What's a Wearable Keepsake and WHY Do We Make Them?

Hey friends!

For those of you that don't know me, I am Brandi Shoemake, part Owner and full-time Designer for Evie's Closet Clothing! I wanted to take a few minutes to share our story and mission with you!

Our little immediate family is a family of 6! We first had three amazing boys and then our fourth is Miss Evie Jane! When we brought Evie home from the hospital I quickly realized that my baby boys weren't babies anymore! Her tiny stature highlighted how quickly they had grown. During such an unbelievably happy time, my heart grieved a bit for how fleeting those moments were and how fast babies really do grow up! I made it my mission to capture and savor each moment with my crew! When you begin to look at every important moment as what will one day be a treasured memory, suddenly every element of it becomes of the utmost importance! I could no longer dress my crew in basic things for our special occasions! I needed something equally as special as the moment! I began searching tirelessly for the perfect Christmas and Easter attire for my crew. I struggled in finding something perfect for Evie. Everything was either smocked or way too grown up for her! After searching all over, I finally decided to have something made. I got tiny little tags printed that said Evie's Closet to sew into the dresses. I designed two dresses that to me, captured the essence of what I was looking for, vintage with a pop of fun, girly, twirly, and slightly southern. Genuinely, through a series of God orchestrated events, the rest is history! Over the years I've worked hard to design apparel that is both special and functional. Being a mom of 4, I know that sometimes that battle can be overwhelming in getting our kiddos to dress up! Here at ECC you will find things that are both special and wearable! Hence the tag, "Wearable Keepsakes."

At the end of the day, we cannot slow down time and keep our babies from growing up, but we can capture the memories and savor the moments. My goal is always to create something that helps do just that! We want to be part of your journey while you make moments become memories. Apparel special enough to pack in your forever box, to take you back to a time when you close your eyes, to be part of the moments that live forever in your heart.
